Computer pop-ups or viruses may impede your work, causing colossal time loss until you finish your tasks and leaving you feeling dull with its irritating pop-up or virus-alters.
What can you do to fix it? Does factory reset remove the virus? Find out some interesting facts in my story when I run a factory reset to remove a virus.

My Story

At the university, everyone is busy preparing their PowerPoint presentations for their dissertations as the semester ends. To the point of perplexity, every student has some technological problem, such as a malfunctioning laptop, a power outage, or any other issue that might prevent them from delivering their presentation.

It was regrettable that it occurred to my closest friend while giving her presentation. Still, without delay being a guest audience member, I assisted her swiftly by connecting her portable device to my laptop so that she could continue doing her speech.

The most encouraging news is that she got an A on her dissertation; on the other hand, my laptop has been amplifying ever since that day.

Insights

Upon investigation, I discovered that the portable USB device was the source of a severe virus that had introduced into my laptop. After further probe determined that resetting the device to its factory settings was the best option. This was due to the fact that it did not require a significant amount of my time but still allowed me to retrieve all of my existing and previous data. Moreover, I learned a substantial amount of information regarding how laptops become infected with viruses and how these infections can be treated at home by any individual. I have combined all my investigated research in this article – I hope it becomes helpful for everyone else too!

There Must Be A Solution, Right?

A factory reset is a good option if you’re having trouble getting rid of a virus or malware from your computer. All but the most advanced infections are rendered useless by a factory reset, often known as a Windows Reset or reformat and reinstall. Computers are immune to virus harm; destroying them is as simple as resetting to factory settings.

What Exactly Happens When You Hit The Factory Reset Button?

To factory reset, a device is to delete all of its data and return its software to its original configuration (when it was in the factory). It will delete everything from your PC or mobile device. Software that was pre-installed by the original manufacturer will be restored. Resetting anything to its original state is possible with more than just computers and phones. Devices such as televisions, printers, and GPS systems provide factory reset options.

Setting Up A Factory Reset

When you do a factory reset, the computer’s operating system and any installed storage media are restored to their original states from when you first turned it on.

Virus Survivors May Revive

Viruses may be reintroduced to a computer after a factory reset if the user restores data from an infected backup. Before restoring files from a backup storage device to a computer, it’s essential to check the drive thoroughly for viruses and other forms of malware. This article’s advice is suitable for both Windows 8 and 8.1. Some very uncommon viruses are immune to factory resets; in this case, a boot and nuke application and a clean install of Windows should be sufficient to eliminate the threat.

So, Will erasing everything to factory settings eliminate malware?

Bottom-Line

In a nutshell, the answer is yes—resetting the device to factory settings will, in most cases, eliminate infections. However, this is not always the case. It is hard to claim with certainty that resetting your device to factory settings will be the solution to healing your device from a malware infection because of the vast diversity of computer viruses and how they constantly evolve.
